UPDATE FEBRUARY 12/2013 – I’m thinking I should create a new section called “GiftHulk’s Lie of the Day” – today’s whopper pertains to a new offer on the GiftHulk site that rewards users for listening to online radio stations – and suspiciously enough it is only available to those in the U.S. When questioned as to why this offer wasn’t made available to Canadians the response from GiftHulk was “Advertiser looking only for US Traffic, sadly there is nothing we can do”.
Now boys and girls – this same radio offer is also available on QuickRewards and Clixsense – and it is not only available to the U.S. on those sites, but to Canadians as well!
This has been the GiftHulk Lie of the Day – brought to you by the letters B and S.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 9/2012 – IS GIFTHULK ANTI CANADIAN?
I have removed my glowing review of GiftHulk due to what has recently become obvious – GiftHulk is anti-Canadian.
Why do I say this? For these reasons:
3) GiftHulk no longer allows Canadians to redeem for Amazon.com gift cards – yet Canadians can redeem for Amazon.com gift cards on Swagbucks, CantBeatFree, Razoo and PrizeZombie. And they could also redeem for these cards on Superpoints before it closed down. So there is NO EXCUSE FOR THIS CHANGE!
One of the reasons Amazon gives for offering their gift cards as incentives on promotional web sites: With millions of customers, Amazon.com is one of the world’s leading online destinations. I’m not seeing anything that says “except for Canadians redeeming on Gift Hulk.”
Why is GiftHulk making it more difficult for Canadians to use their site? Can the answer be any more obvious?
According to GiftHulk, the reason for not allowing Canadians to redeem for amazon.com gift cards is “we were unable to get discounts on the Amazon.com cards when we send them outside the US”
Thinking how that doesn’t make a lick of sense, I contacted Amazon this morning and explained the situation to them – their response?
They do not lose the discount as we dont ask where the gift cards are being sent.
So, Mr. GiftHulk – I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and suggest that you misunderstood a communication from Amazon – and I look forward to redeeming for an Amazon.com $5 gift card soon.
Nov 18/2012 – Dear Mr. GiftHulk – you claimed that you don’t allow Canadians to redeem for amazon.com gift cards because you “lose your discount if the codes are sent outside the U.S.” – as I stated previously, I have proven that to be false (though any reasonable thinking human being would recognize that reason as being bogus a mile away). I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt by suggesting there must have been a misunderstanding in communication between you and Amazon, and was hopeful that after you realized that you would then correct your error.
However, I redeemed for a $5 Amazon.com gift card last night and awoke this morning to my coins having been refunded. Again.
I have made GiftHulk aware that they have been caught in a lie, and they have not responded.
Maybe my original suggestion is more accurate than I had thought? You really are trying to drive away the Canadians? Why else lie about this?
Nov 23/2012 – looks like GiftHulk isn’t going to deny their lie – they’ve just changed their tune to this:
We are not able to send amazon.com cards to Canadians and its not going to change before 2013.
So my question is this: how crooked does a site have to be to pull crap like that?
At one time GiftHulk was open to most countries around the world – some time ago they began blocking access to all countries except the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. When asked when they would re-open to other countries their response was “2013“.
Anyone seeing a familiar pattern here? Is something magical going to happen in 2013 that will allow GiftHulk to resume offering amazon.com gift cards to Canadians and re-open their site to all of the other countires?
As for the amazon.com gift cards only being made available to the U.S., I can’t help but wonder the reason. Since their credibility is shot after their blatant lies (did they think nobody would check?) I now wonder if their credit worthiness is shot as well. Maybe they didn’t pay their amazon bill on time and now amazon is limiting the amount of gift cards they can buy on credit. This would account for them limiting the number of amazon.com gift cards they give out by only making them available to the U.S.
Kinda gives you the warm fuzzies for this site, doesn’t it. Not.
Nov 24/2012 – Mr. GiftHulk is getting a little testy – posted just now on their facebook page:
Let me explain how the ban works, if you never /rarely click on results (large numbers.. not talking about 10 searches) means you are searching just for the wins. this is against our TOS. This algorithm runs for 2 months the ban rate was ~1% now. if you feel that you are not able to follow this simple rules that simply tell you to search like you search in a non-incent search engine you can skip searching and use our other features
Quite a Mr. Cranky Pants isn’t he – I guess it’s not all sunshine and roses in HulkLand
Jan 31/2013 – is this another lie from GiftHulk?
GiftHulk TV is currently closed to all countries, except USA.
This is done following our TV Channels provider policy changes regarding the geo-restrictions. This may change soon – we advise you to stay tuned.
Irazoo has the same videos that GiftHulk has, and Irazoo is still allowing Canadians to watch them and earn points – so what exactly is the problem that GiftHulk has with Canadians? First they lie about why Canadians can’t redeem for amazon.com gift cards, and then they lie about why Canadians can’t watch GiftHulk TV.
Keep talking, Mr. GiftHulk – this is exactly what people want to see in a GPT site – dishonesty.
Reasons Why You Should NOT Use GiftHulk
- Creates bogus reasons for why they do not allow Canadians to redeem for amazon.com gift cards – what else are they lying about?
- Removed the $5 amazon.ca gift card from their store, yet this card is available on many other similar sites
- GHTV is not available to Canada, yet similar tv offerings are available to Canada on many other similar sites, including the ones I mentioned above
- Lies, lies and more lies
- Will monitor public message forums and publicly call people out that he suspects are cheating including posting ip addresses, yet remains strangely silent when called out on his flagrant lies
- Their Search & Win – more to come on that – and be forewarned – it’s mind boggling.
- They lie about why Canadians can’t watch GiftHulk TV
